Produced and written in New Zealand the Milly Molly Series is  an ideal set of books for any primary or special school. Linked closely to the PSHE and Citizenship Curriculum these delightful stories have already charmed children throughout the world. Tested in a number of schools throughout the UK. the response from both teachers and children has been quite overwhelming.

Milly and Molly are both very different but are the best of friends and their adventures provide an exciting and entertaining look at a variety of serious issues which face children today. With diversity as one of the main themes they also deal with a range of other social and moral topics. Having sold over 3.5 million copies in 100 countries these books, dolls and teachers’ support materials are now available in the UK.

Some of the best citizenship books on the market they will certainly stimulate, entertain and educate a wide range of children. Dealing with gender, relationships, social and moral issues I was most impressed with both the content and the subjects covered. The dolls are an added bonus providing an ideal way of communicating with the children. A set of interactive CD-Roms and a forthcoming cartoon series also adds a great deal of value to the books.

Having worked in main stream primary education for many years I can thoroughly recommended these books and materials as a way of stimulating and exciting primary children of all ages. An ideal means of covering the PSHE and Citizenship Curriculum the teachers’ support guide has been carefully produced and will be very useful. The materials have my full support as they are professionally produced and link very closely with the PSHE and Citizenship work currently being carried out in schools throughout the UK.

Mrs Mason

“We are currently using the range of Milly, Molly books to complement our existing scheme of work for PSHE. The books are used in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 and the children really enjoy hearing the stories and looking at the pictures together. The thing that I have found best from a teacher's perspective is that the children are stimulated by the messages in the stories and the discussion that follows is more in depth than it has been before over certain issues. The books help to capture the children's imagination and really get them thinking”

Mrs Maybury

“I have read some of the books with my class and they really enjoyed listening to the stories and we had some really interesting discussions. The children really enjoyed the coloured pictures and related to the characters well as the experiences they had were ‘real life’

The way that the sets related to the PSHE curriculum was good and we found that they could be integrated into our SEAL work easily. It was useful to have the matching chart as it made relating it to my planning easy and time efficient.

This is a really good set of books that will prove to be a real asset to our PSHE and citizenship”
